PC 60-40
Commodore’s first 386 Computer, released in January 1988. There were two versions: The 60-40 with a 40MB HDD, an AGA grahpics card and one 5,25″ floppy drive and the 60-80 with an 80MB HDD, one 5,25″ and one 3,5″ floppy drive and an EGA graphics card. Commodore saw its main use as a file server in networks. The 60-40 was sold with MS-DOS 3.2 for 11.400 German Marks and the 60-80, which came with MS-DOS 3.2 and Windows 386, cost around 14.500 German Marks.
This unit has an 80MB HDD and a VGA graphics card. It is unknown if it was upgraded later by the user or the retailer/store.
The stamp on the inside indicates that this machine was probably assembled on January 5th 1988.

- work performed:
- whole machine completely dismantled and cleaned
- FDD disassembled, cleaned and lubricated
- missing PSU replaced with an original spare PC 40 PSU [same PSU]
- PSU and all expansion cards recapped with Rubycon brand 105° type
- both tantalums [one shorted] on C= I/O card replaced
- original velcro for CMOS battery re-attached
- HDD “motivated” to spin again & low-leveled
- MS-DOS 4.01 installed
