C64 CP/M Cartridge
The Commodore CP/M cartridge for C64 adds a Z80 CPU to the C64 and comes with version 2.2 of the CP/M operating system.
The CP/M operating system was very popular at the time because there were many business applications available. But it required an Intel 8080 compatible CPU, which the C64 did not offer.
The cartridge from 1983 adds a Z80 CPU to the C64. The operating system and the applications ran on the Z80 CPU, whereas the 6502 was used for disk acces, the keyboard and the screen.
